Heavy-gauge vapor barriers, sealed foundation vents, and a dedicated sump discharge line so your Prattsburgh, NY crawl space stops feeding moisture into the floor joists above it.
Prattsburgh, NY crawl spaces vary a lot in how they were originally built, and a liner that's correct for one home can be undersized for another depending on foot traffic and storage use. We size thickness to how the space is actually used.
We follow manufacturer specs on liner overlap and seam tape so the barrier actually holds up over time.
Our technicians carry encapsulation materials on the truck for most standard-size crawl spaces, cutting down on return visits.
No hourly billing — the number we quote is the number on the final invoice.
A dedicated crawl space dehumidifier is sized to your square footage, not a one-size-fits-all unit.
We scope every Crawl Space Encapsulation job in person before quoting it, since two properties with the same symptom rarely need the same fix.
Extraction equipment includes submersible pumps sized for tight crawl space access points.
We install heavy-duty liner rated for crawl space conditions, sealed at every seam and pier to stop ground moisture from reaching the floor joists.
Open foundation vents pull in humid outside air, which is often the real driver of Prattsburgh, NY crawl space condensation — we seal them as part of encapsulation.
A crawl space needs its own sump basin and discharge line separate from any basement system, since the two spaces drain differently.
Exposed ductwork inside an unencapsulated crawl space collects condensation, which we address by insulating and sealing ducts while the space is open.
We ask about standing water, musty odor, and vent condition to gauge scope before scheduling the inspection.
We take humidity and moisture readings to establish a baseline before recommending a system.
You'll see square footage, liner grade, vent sealing, and dehumidifier specs broken out in the written estimate.
We re-test humidity after installation to confirm the space is holding at a healthy level before we consider the job done.
"Found out our old vapor barrier had huge gaps at every seam. They redid it properly and sealed the vents too."
— Prattsburgh Homeowner
"Sump discharge from the old system was dumping water right back next to the foundation. They rerouted it and the crawl space finally dried out."
— Prattsburgh Customer
"They caught duct condensation we didn't even know was happening down there. Sealed everything up during the same visit."
— Prattsburgh Homeowner
"Humidity reading before was over 80%. After encapsulation it's holding steady in the 50s."

A vapor barrier is just the liner on the ground; full encapsulation seals vents, walls, and often adds a dehumidifier for complete moisture control.
We'll recommend a thickness based on how the space is actually used, not just a default.
In most Prattsburgh, NY climates, yes — open vents pull in humid air that undoes a lot of the benefit of the liner alone.
If the smell persists after encapsulation, that usually points to a separate moisture source we'd need to investigate.
Standing water doesn't disqualify a space from encapsulation; it's just the first step in the process.
Spaces with extensive prior water damage or debris may take longer — we'll give you a realistic estimate up front.
